Group Leader Retreat
Wild + Free group leaders are the heart and soul of this beautiful homeschool community. Fostering friendships in real life through nature hikes, handcraft fairs, book clubs, meet-ups, and mamas-nights-out.
We're thrilled to announce our Wild + Free Group Leader Retreat at the Farm Village on October 6-8, 2023. Join a gathering of leaders from all over the world as we equip, encourage, and support each other in this endeavor.
We'll soak-up the beautiful surroundings of the Allegheny mountains, grow share our stories and best practices, go for hikes on the Farm Village trails, learn from each other, and enjoy nourishing meals together.

Retreat Details
The cost of the Group Leader Retreat is $299, which includes your lodging, activities and meals from Friday night to Sunday morning.
Wild + Free Friends: If you're coming with fellow group-leader friends, let us know when you sign-up and we'll arrange for you to room together.
On Children: Because of the shared sleeping arrangements, we regret that we cannot accommodate children or nursing infants at this retreat.
Cancellation Policy: All registrations are transferable but non-refundable.

The Wild + Free Farm Village is located an hour and a half west of Charlottesville, VA and three hours from Washington DC.

Most GPS systems will try to take you on Cowpasture River Road SOUTH, which will get you lost. =) Be sure to go NORTH, and you'll be just fine.
Please note that your cell service will drop-out within a half hour from the Farm Village. We encourage you to plug-in GPS to your phone before this point. We'll have WiFi access and phone lines when you get here.
Accommodations
Lodging at the Wild + Free Farm Village is "summer camp style" with bunk beds and shared baths. We have several bunk rooms of varying sizes and will do our best to pair you with friends or the perfect roomies for your stay.
We've gone out of our way to make your stay comfortable with cozy organic bedding, Tuft and Needle mattresses, and special touches like Turkish bath towels and organic soaps, shampoo, and conditioner in the showers.
In addition to our indoor bathrooms, we have three newly-built, heated bathhouses with personal shower areas and beautiful accommodations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Bring My Nursing Infant?
Because of the close sleeping arrangements, we are not able to accommodate nursing infants or children under the age of 18. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions. This event is mamas-only.
What Are the Closest Airports?
The closest airports to the Farm Village are: Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport - (1 hour), Charlottesville, VA - (1.37 hours), Lynchburg, VA - (2.12 hours), and Washington (DC) Dulles Airport - (2.52 hours).
Can I Park my RV On Site?
Due to zoning restrictions, we are not able to accommodate RVs at the Farm Village. However, you are welcome to use tents or pop-up campers.
Do You Offer Cancellations and Refunds?
Registrations are transferable but non-refundable. Unfortunately, we are not able to make exceptions, even with last-minute emergencies.
Is This Retreat Faith Based?
Everyone is welcome, and the content will be neutral. But due to the intimate nature of personal stories, there will likely be mentions of faith.
Are meals included?
Yes, we'll provide five meals starting with dinner on Friday night and ending with breakfast on Sunday morning. We can accommodate the following dietary restrictions: gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian.

After all these years of dreaming and casting vision, Wild + Free finally has a Farm Village! Join us for one of our first retreats to experience the beauty of this place and be refreshed by the community of like-minded mamas.
We still have a lot of dreams for this place and a lot of work to do, but as the shadows begin to grow longer and the leaves start to turn into vibrant colors, we couldn't help ourselves but to start hosting retreats here!
